Q: How much does camp cost?

Our full-day camps, which run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm for five days, cost $275 per camper/screen.
Half-day camps, which run in the afternoon for five days, cost $150 per camper/screen.

Q: I’m not in the eastern time zone; can my child still participate in camp?

Absolutely! Our full-day camps are open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm EST and the half-day camps are open 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm EST. This allows any child across the United States to participate at a time that works best for them.

Q: My child can’t log-in. What should I do?

We have a Tech Support Team standing by and ready for any concerns or problems you have accessing our virtual platform. Their email information is located in your confirmation email, or on your bulletin board.

Q: My child is in the waiting room and isn’t being accepted in. What should I do?

The Zoom Camp Room will launch approximately 15 minutes before the live session begins. This allows everyone to bring up the Zoom interface and be sure they are ready to connect right as the Camp Room opens at the exact Live Session start time. For the safety of all campers, your child must have the exact screen name from your application (format ex. Billy T). If you have a name not from our roster, we will send you a message to adjust it but you will not be admitted until it is accurate.

Q: How are you keeping my child and the camp secure?

Camper safety is our number one priority as we all interface with this virtual camp concept. With over 23 years of in-person summer camp direction we will implement many of our best practices and industry standards from the American Camp Association (ACA) to ensure the emotional, cognitive, and physical well being of all campers. Utilizing Zoom as a virtual platform there are many options to increase camper safety. Implementing Camp Room passwords, camper screen names, waiting rooms, and more will maintain only the verified participants will be able to join the call. Additionally, all facilitators have been vetted via a lengthy application process including background checks, multiple virtual interviews, and have been trained in Zoom management and camper well being best practices.

Q: How do I download Zoom?

Zoom has a multitude of quick guides that make interfacing with this virtual platform simple. Reference HERE for how to download Zoom on your smart device or computer.

Q: What time does camp start?

The live Zoom Camp Room begins each day at 10:00 am or 1:00 pm EST depending on your camp session. However, your camper will be given access to their activities for the day beginning at 8:00 am EST if they want to get an early jump on their fun!

Q: What are the device requirements for CampCloud?

To access our virtual Camp Room, Zoom suggests these System Requirements. You will want to be sure you have a quiet and well lit room with forward facing light, a webcam, a microphone, and a stable internet connection.

Q: What are the internet requirements for CampCloud?

Zoom suggest for video calling at least 800kbps/1.0Mbps (up/down) for high quality video

Q: The instructor keeps freezing or dropping out, what is wrong?

If you’re seeing latency, freezing, or skipping on the video, this means your internet is struggling to keep up with the requirements. If you are utilizing wi-fi you can try an ethernet connection or relocate closer to your wireless router.

Q: I have more than one child participating in CampCloud at the same time – do they need to be on separate devices?

If you have multiple campers in the camp (which is absolutely encouraged, siblings thrive when camping together) they can and should utilize one screen and device. Be sure the smart device or computer is on a stable surface where the faces of all campers are clearly visible on the screen.

Q: How does CampCloud work?

CampCloud is a fully virtual directly facilitated camp with many unique themes and content for all interest. Utilizing the Zoom platform, we are operating camps with skilled facilitators from around the country. These content experts will lead campers through multiple activities, challenges, demonstrations, or experiences  throughout the day all surrounding a common theme for the week. Beyond the directly led activities, there are additional activities which your child may complete off screen and share with fellow campers via the virtual platform. With six unique activities each day, campers should be engaged with camp experiences upwards of seven hours per day if they so choose to complete all activities.

Q: Who should I contact if I have additional questions?

If you have any technical support questions please reach out to our support@thecampcloud.com. If you’re looking for more information about a specific camp, explore our Virtual Camps page. If you need more information about what CampCloud is and how it works, check out this VIDEO.

Q: Do I need to be participating with my child in CampCloud?

CampCloud is for youth and all activities can be completed with no adult supervision needed. We are aware that parents working from home need the time to focus on their job duties and our biggest ability to help accomplish this goal is to keep your children engaged, enthused, and excited about this virtual camp experience. Additionally, many activities are education based, learning can always be fun!

Q: Can my child participate for only half a day?

The Camp Room is available for upwards of six hours per day, however, there is no need to directly engage with the virtual platform for the entire duration. Many campers may find they can participate in facilitated activities in the morning and may have to miss the afternoon session. Even if you have to miss Tuesday and the many fun experiences we had together, you can complete those activities on any other day of the week if you would like!

Q: What supplies are needed for CampCloud?

Each week of camp has a unique curriculum and supplies list that will help you participate in the entire experience. These supplies will be readily available in most households or include alternatives that you may use instead. This information will be included in your initial confirmation email and on your Bulletin Board each day.

Q: How do I find out what the day’s activities are?

Each morning, two hours before your live camp session begins, your Bulletin Board will be updated with the day’s activities. This will include all step by step directions, supplies, and even digital media such as images or videos that will help you accomplish the activity. Once the live Camp Room session begins, facilitators will be available as an additional resource of information and support.

Q: What is included in a CampCloud camp purchase?

Each CampCloud includes a whole week of fun! Five consecutive days of access to our Bulletin Board which includes over 30 uniquely themed activities and experiences. However, the fun isn’t just for you to have alone, with the live Camp Room session each day your camper will connect with up to 150 other campers and facilitators from all over the United States. This community will learn and grow together as they experience the camp each day. Socially distanced but virtually connected.

Q: What is the refund policy for CampCloud?

Because of the nature of CampCloud programming, we are not able to offer refunds at this time.
